Upload an image

The instructions here are very similar to uploading a file.

After browsing and selecting a file, you’ll see a dialog box like this:

uploadphoto.jpg

Here, we’re seeing some limitations of WordPress. If you wish to have site visitors see an actual image, you have two choices: either a thumbnail, or the image full size. Unfortunately, WordPress has a hard-coded fixed size for thumbnails at 128 pixels (really small). Your options are to either:

  1. Accept the small thumbnail size, or
  2. Size the image correctly for the page in PhotoShop, or
  3. Ask me to hard code a larger size for ALL THUMBNAILS on the site.

Please choose #2.

Once uploaded, you have some additional choices to make:

imageedit.jpg

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RESIZE THE IMAGE HERE. DO IT RIGHT IN PHOTOSHOP. Since this crude editor does NOT have a way of keeping the aspect ratio, you would probably end up distorting the image. Not good.

However, you CAN elect to set the border at 0, set horizontal space at about 6 (to keep it away from the text), and align the photo right or left. This latter choice will cause the text to flow around your photo.
